Tulsa Skyline

This ornament celebrates our beautiful city skyline. The backpiece shows a view looking east from the higher elevations across the Arkansas River, in the city's west. This view includes many major downtown skyscrapers, some of which were built with "Tulsa Oil Boom" money and in the famous Art Deco style. The frontpiece shows the historic Eleventh Street Arkansas River Bridge, (also known as the Cyrus Avery Route 66 Memorial Bridge). Built in 1916-17, it is an historic landmark itself. Its concrete guardrails are decorated with a zig-zag Art Deco motif.
