The 2013 ornament honors

The Tulsa Historical Society

The ornament celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Tulsa Historical Society - founded in 1963.

The backpiece depicts the facade of the renovated and historic Samuel Travis Mansion, our Historical Society's current home.

Fountains and stairs lead to landscaped Vintage Gardens, surrounding the building, with artifacts from historic Tulsa buildings including the cupola from the old East Second Street Library

Inside, the THS offers eight exhibit spaces with photos, maps, books, costumes and documents from Tulsa's past. Tours, event rentals and educational programs are also available.

The frontpiece features the Five Moons: bronze sculptures portraying Oklahoma's five Native American ballerinas each in a costume and pose from their most famous role.
