This ornament honors the 75th anniversary of Will Rogers High School.
Built in 1939 in Art Deco style, it isa magnificent architectural treasure for Tulsa and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The back piece shows the west tower entrance, with classrooms to the right. The school is buff brick with ornate details in terra cotta and carved stone.
Carved panels above the doors feature the life of Will Rogers, famous Oklahoma humorist, columnist, actor and roper for which the school is named.
The front piece features a roper, the school mascot, the "1939" date in the school colors of royal blue and gold and the dog iron brand, the school symbol.
