Introducing, 2018 Tulsa's Historic Webster High School

2018

The 2018 ornament celebrates the 80th anniversary Daniel Webster High School, built in 1938. Designed in Art Deco style, it is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The back piece shows the main buff brick building. A great staircase leads up to three pairs of entry doors crowned with cast aluminum panels depiction classical Greek images. A large clock is mounted above. The entry is flanked by tall columns with zig-zag brick detail. The columns stair-step down to two wings of classrooms that angle forward. The ornament's frame echos the shape of hugh metal lanterns at the main & side enterances.

The front piece shows 1938 & TW in Webster blue. At left, a Greek torch symbolizes lighting the way to learning.

The school is named for renowned statesman and orator, Daniel Webster.
